About Helping Hand HR


Helping Hand HR is owned and managed by Maria Lambert. Maria is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered MCIPD) and a qualified Health and Safety consultant (NEBOSH Certificate) with nearly 20 years of multi-discipline experience in human resources. During this time she has been employed in the private, public and voluntary/community sectors and she has worked in (or with) organisations as diverse as marketing, retail, education, manufacturing, construction and the charitable sector.

Throughout all of your interactions with Helping Hand HR it will be Maria who will be your consultant and primary point of contact.

Helping Hand HR is a Yorkshire based Human Resource Management Consultancy providing independent support across a full range of Human Resources Management, Health and Safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility challenges.

We work primarily with small to medium sized businesses and business start ups, but there is no limit to the size or business sector of the organisations that we can work with. You can see a full list of our services in the main menu to the left and we can work with you in any of the following ways.

The geographic area that we cover is West, East and North Yorkshire. Arrangements can be made to work outside these areas in certain circumstances.


A highlighted summary of Maria's CV

Maria is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and has extensive experience of setting up HR departments, producing company policies and developing training and continuous professional development programmes. She has worked in the interlinked disciplines of health and safety and facilities management. She was the HR manager for one of the UK's largest advertising agencies for over 10 years, and she has also worked for a major fashion retailer as well as being employed within the voluntary and community sector.

Maria has worked in corporate environments employing several thousand employees through multiple outlets, however most of her experience has been gained working for, or working with, companies employing less than 300 people, i.e. the small to medium business sector.

Maria has extensive experience of corporate social responsibility, having collaborated with Business in the Community for over 5 years. She also has over 10 years experience of facilities and health and safety management and holds the NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
